LL400

The 400 mm-wide insulated concrete blocks in this product family are a reliable choice for energy-efficient construction. The energy efficiency of a cast concrete wall results from its excellent thermal insulation, airtightness and heat storage capacity, made possible by its high density.

The concrete structure provides excellent load-bearing capacity and strength. The casting cavities allow reinforcing steel to be installed both horizontally and vertically. The structure is designed to carry vertical loads, ensuring excellent load-bearing capacity. For this reason, insulated concrete blocks are used not only in stone buildings, but especially in basements where resistance to earth pressure is required.

In addition to its excellent load-bearing capacity, the compatibility between components of the product family provides greater design flexibility. Thanks to its high density, the cast concrete wall remains cool in summer and warm in winter.

The U-value of the LL400 product family is 0.17 W/m².

The LL400 product family is based on a straight, 600 mm-long insulated concrete block. Each block comprises two concrete shells with generously sized casting cavities and a graphite-enhanced EPS insulation core, securely connected by a tongue-and-groove joint.

The block design and compatibility of the components help ensure accurate, error-free construction. The blocks are stacked, the insulation joints are sealed with polyurethane foam, and the structure is reinforced and filled with concrete. Before the concrete is poured, the necessary service installations are fitted within the blocks’ casting cavities.

Completely filling the casting cavities gives the wall good load-bearing capacity and creates a continuous, fully sealed and solid wall structure. Together, these properties ensure that the external wall has exceptional thermal storage capacity.

With a 400 mm corner block, it is easy to form the internal and external corners of a wall made of insulated concrete blocks. The block is designed to provide continuous thermal insulation throughout the corner. The corner block can be inverted as required. This also creates a 2M overlap (200 mm), which improves the stability of the stacked blocks.

The generously sized casting cavities and reinforcement slots ensure a uniform structure and straightforward installation, including at the building’s corners.

Pre-cut end blocks make it easy to form door and window openings in the building. Using end blocks eliminates the need for labour-intensive casting work around the openings.

The end block’s concrete shell is pre-cut at 200/400 mm, so the required overlap can be created simply by cutting away the block’s insulation section. The block can be used at its full length of 600 mm or shortened by sawing off the insulation section. This gives an end block measuring 400 mm. The remaining 200 mm-long block section can be used in the wall as normal.

The LL400 product family includes a 600 mm long pre-cut partial block. This block is used in all applications where a straight 600 mm-long foundation block cannot be used. The concrete shells are pre-cut, allowing the insulation to be cut with a handsaw to divide the block into 200 mm and 400 mm sections.

Our product range is the most comprehensive on the market and forms a carefully coordinated system. When a building is designed using a 2M modular layout, we can provide ready-made products to suit the project. This eliminates the need for labour-intensive on-site casting and processing of the blocks.

The cut block is used as part of the wall structure at intermediate floor, ventilated ground floor and often roof slab junctions. This makes it easy to connect adjoining structures, such as hollow-core slabs. The cut block is installed as part of the wall cladding. At the corresponding level, the hollow-core slabs are fitted to the cast inner shell. Any additional insulation is then fitted, along with the dowels and ring reinforcement for the hollow-core slabs. The structure itself then serves as formwork for casting the joint.

The 175 mm-wide product can be used in all types of walls made from insulated concrete blocks. In wider walls (LL400 and LL500), the additional insulation is installed between the block insulation and the joint concrete before the joint is cast. The thickness of the additional insulation is determined in accordance with the structural design and the type of structure.
